About This Item

XLinker is a photo polymerising device that uses Riboflavin as a photo Sensitizing agent in Cross linling of Corneal Collsgen as a treatment for patients with Keratoconus or Corneal Ectasia.

C3R causes the collagen fibrils to thickness, stiffen and crosslink to each other, making the cornea stronger and more stable, Multiple studies have now established the advantage of using Riboflavin ( Vitamin B2 ) In combination with Ultra Violet A ( UV-A ) irradiation to convincingly halt the progression of keratoconus and significantly improve visual acuity. C3R IS also used in treatment of corneal ulcers  and before LASIK treatment in patients with myopia to reduce the risk of postoperative Keratectasia.

Riboflavin ( Vitamin B2 ) has a dual function of acting as a photo  Sensitzer for the production of oxygen free radicals, which induce physical cross linking of collagen, and it gives a ” Shielding effect ” by absorbing the UV-A irradiation ( 90 % ) , thereby preventing damage to deeper ocular Structures.

C3R is shown to increase the biomechanical rigidity of the cornea br 4-5 times. By increasing the biomechanical stability of the cornea using the riboflavin and UV-A- iNDUCED COLLAGEN cross-linking, it is possible to stop the progression of keratoconus.

C3R iS a more efficient, simple, safe and a cost effective method of treatment of progressive keratoconus.

XLinker is indicated for use in treatment for keratoconus and/or to strengthen the corneal xollagen. The Increase in corneal collagen is achieved by applying a topical dose of riboflavin drops to the cornea and exposing the cornea to a low amount of ultraviolet A ( UVA) light. The activated riboflavin enhances corneal strenghth and integrity.

  • Indicated for use in mild to moderate progressive Keratoconus, post LASIK Ectasia, pellucid Marginal degenaration, bullous keratopathy, infectious keratitis, progrssive hyperopia post radial keratectomy, scleral cross linking for glaucoma and pathological myopia.
  • For use in cornea with thickness of at least 400 microns
  • Epithelium debridement necessary ( Epithelium-off )
  • Variants: 3ml vial or 3ml prefilled syringe + 23G Cannula
